Ugly mushrooms need love too!

This “grab bag” of gourmet mushrooms came about when R&R Cultivation decided to offer our seconds that we often turn into dried product to the public! This provides an economical opportunity to pick up a lot of mushrooms on a tight budget.

Our organic, Minnesota-grown mushrooms connect urban farmers and their freshly cultivated food to the community while at the same time supporting the local economy. We believe our mushrooms should be accessible to everyone, even those who may not have the ability to carve out much room in their weekly grocery budget.

You may get all of one variety of mushroom or a mix in your box; it all depends on what we have fresh and in stock. These mushrooms are delicious to eat but are not quite suitable to resell to grocery stores or at farmers markets. The varieties will always be different, and the mushrooms should be eaten within 2-3 days of purchase. Purchases are by the pound only.

Preparing and Eating Our Gourmet Minnesota-Grown Mushrooms

Regardless of the species or variety, mushrooms are a great addition to many dishes. They’re chock full of vitamins, nutrients, and amino acids that are important components of a healthy balanced diet. In addition, mushrooms have been used in cooking countless traditional and modern dishes for centuries. They can add life and complexity to rice and pasta dishes, complement meat main courses, and serve as a filling and nutritious centerpiece to a vegetarian or vegan meal. 

Our mushrooms are all delicious when gently sautéed in butter or a neutral cooking oil. They can be eaten straight out of the pan!
